Green tea is by far considered the best tea to drink. Numerous studies and dietitians are willing to back the claim that this soothing beverage is great for your health. Green tea is full of antioxidants called polyphenols, which help ward off chronic diseases and assist with weight loss. And yet, there are many types of green tea to choose from. So what's considered the best one to drink?

"Matcha is often considered one of the healthiest green teas because it has a higher antioxidant level than traditional green tea and is particularly known for its anti-cancer properties," says Lisa Young, PhD, RDN, author of Finally Full, Finally Slim.

Best Green Tea Recipe

The best way to make ice tea is in an ice tea maker. I don’t like to boil the water and make it by hand (and spend more money heating up my stove top) when I can have a contraption that does all the work for me! Go technology! LOL

When I purchased it, it was on sale for $25-$30 and I thought for SURE the glass would break because it does have a glass pitcher instead of plastic.

But actually, it’s held up nicely. No breaks so far and it’s going on about 2 years now. It’s also a LOT easier to clean than plastic. Tea stains plastic so easily and is not as toxic-friendly as it’s counterpart, glass.

To use the ice tea maker, you just pour water in the pitcher to the line, then pour that water in the tea maker. Fill the pitcher up with ice, put your green tea bags in the tea maker chamber and push ON.

It’s literally that simple.

In less than 5 minutes, you have perfectly brewed ice tea!

One trick that I discovered that saves me money is by only using 4 tea bags instead of 5. One time I was out of tea and so I used 4 instead of 5 and it actually came out just as tasty. It’s a little lighter, so I’m getting more water in me, which is good anyway, right.

It still tastes the same to me, but now I can get 5 uses out of a box of tea (20 bags) rather than 4 batches. I just set the brew strength lever on the side of the ice tea maker to “strong” so it comes out stronger, using less tea bags.

Over time, this can really add up and such a simple change.

After the tea is brewed, I fill up my glass with ice, then halfway full of the tea.

The rest of the ways of the drinking glass, I fill up with water.

If you like your tea sweetened (and I do), I use NuNaturals Alcohol Free NuStevia. You can get it here on Amazon, but I get mine at Fred Meyers (as I’ve heard the Amazon one is bitter and the one at Fred Meyer is the one that says “non-bitter” at the bottom right in front of the 2 fl. oz. and it usually runs $12-$14.

I use 10-12 drops of the sweetener in one drinking glass. I’m not sure how many uses are in a bottle, but the sweetener bottle usually lasts me a month or two and you don’t have to refrigerate it after opening, so that is a bonus.

By far, this is my favorite drink to drink all year round. It is super tasty and has so many wonderful health benefits. It’s sure to become your favorite way of making tea as well!

Procedure: Crack open eggs in a bowl and set it aside. Fill half a cup with the lukewarm water and dip 2 green tea bags in it and let it brew for 5-8 minutes. Add the tea in small amounts to the eggs and mix properly. The mixture consistency should be neither too thick, nor too runny and the colour will be light brown. Why let those leaves go to waste? Cut open the Tetley green tea bags and pour the leaves into the mixture and mix everything up. Apply the whole mixture, to the scalp first then work your way out towards then ends. Keep the mask on for 30-40 minutes then rinse off with water completely before using your favourite shampoo and conditioner. Immediate results can be seen as the hair will be super soft and shining!
